Peter Hovmand
Peter Hovmand is the founding director of the Brown School’s Social System Design Lab at Washington University in St. Louis. His research and practice focus on advancing participatory group model building (GMB) methods to involve communities and other stakeholders in the process of understanding system behavior and finding high leverage solutions using system dynamics computer modeling and simulation. His most recent work focuses on energetics and cancer, sexual assault prevention, child and maternal health, and social determinants of health from a feedback perspective. He has been funded by National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, Lupina Foundation, Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration, Waters Foundation, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
