Majid Ezzati
Majid Ezzati is Professor of Global Environmental Health at Imperial College London, where he leads a research programme on population health outcomes and determinants, and on health inequalities. He initiated, and led until 2012, the Comparative Risk Assessment (CRA) component of the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries and Risk Factors Study. The original CRA study formed the scientific core of World Health Report 2002: Reducing Risks, Promoting Healthy Life. He leads the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC), a consortium of over 600 health scientists and practitioners who, in collaboration with WHO, are pooling and analysing worldwide data on NCD risk factors to document their trend, variations, and health effects and to inform policies and priorities for their prevention. He is the Director of Imperial College Wellcome Trust Centre for Global Health Research. He is a fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences.
