About South African Metabolic Medicine and Surgery Society
The Society aims to improve health delivery in South Africa and the African continent by improving knowledge around aspects of obesity and related diseases, including prevention and treatment. SAMMS promotes training of health care professionals in both medical and surgical management of obesity, and assits official bodies, healthcare providers, health insurers and the public on issues related to obesity.
