About the Algerian Society for Obesity & Metabolic Diseases (SAOMM)

A society which is deeply committed to addressing the growing concerns of obesity and metabolic disorders in Algeria and is eager to collaborate with global partners to advance this mission. At SAOMM, key activities include organising national and international scientific events, providing specialised training for healthcare professionals, and promoting awareness and education on obesity prevention and management.

We believe that through shared knowledge, expertise, and resources, we can better understand and combat the complex challenges of obesity in our country and across the globe. By being a member of World Obesity, we aim to contribute actively to this global network, exchange best practices, and support joint initiatives that will drive impactful solutions for obesity prevention and care.
