World Obesity attends WHO’s Regional Committee Meetings
Over the past couple of months, World Obesity and its Members have been actively participating in the WHO Regional Committee Meetings.
The Regional Committee Meetings are convened annually by the individual WHO regional offices to review progress to date and discuss ongoing priorities for the selected region. As a non-state actor in official relations with WHO Geneva, World Obesity is invited to take part in these important meetings and engage in dialogues with relevant Ministries of Health, civil society organisations and other key stakeholder groups from each region.
This year a number of our Members representing each of the different regions of the world took part in these meetings, calling for obesity to be prioritised by governments. Read our statements for the different Meetings:
