SCOPE hosts World Obesity Day webinar on child obesity
On 23 February 2023, SCOPE hosted a webinar on child obesity for World Obesity Day themed “#ChangingPerspectives on child obesity through medical education”.
The webinar featured a presentation by Dr Marie-Laure Frelut, Deputy Chair of our Clinical Care Committee and a leading international expert in paediatric obesity. Dr Frelut presented on the global prevalence of child obesity, best practices in treatment and the future of child obesity management, as well as providing an overview of the SCOPE course Childhood Obesity: From Diagnosis to Treatment.
Our Education Manager, Shubo Saiful, also presented on the importance of medical education to tackle child obesity, while our Communications & Campaigns Manager, Alex de Mare, provided an overview of this year’s World Obesity Day campaign.
