New SCOPE module on medical nutrition therapy now available!

A brand new SCOPE module, which explores the role of medical nutrition therapy in the prevention and treatment of obesity, is available to access via SCOPE E-Learning.

Medical nutrition therapy is an evidence-based application of the nutritional care for the treatment of a disease or condition through the modification of nutrient or food intake, typically provided by a nutritionist or dietitian. This module, authored by Dr Geeta Appannah and Dr Mahenderan Appukutty, outlines the different medical nutrition therapy interventions that can help patients with obesity, and the links between adherence to certain macronutrients, dietary patterns, fasting and weight management. The course also presents effective strategies for increasing patients' adherence to medical nutrition therapy.

The course, "Medical Nutrition Therapy for Obesity", is available to access free of charge via the SCOPE platform. It is currently available in English, with translations into Spanish, French and Portuguese due for release in January 2022!
