2024 in review: Obesidades
On 3 March, we had a walk to commemorate World Obesity Day and raise awareness about obesity, its treatment, and the rights of people living with obesity.
Obesidades is a non-profit community created and led by people living with obesity and health care professionals. Our mission is for obesity to be recognized as a chronic multifactorial disease, eliminate weight stigma, provide training and facilitate access to evidence-based treatment.
Our activities involve awareness campaigns, academic activities, a health care professional locator and social activities for World Obesity Day.
In 2024, we organized our second walk to commemorate World Obesity Day. It was a day filled with positive energy that brought together people living with obesity, health care professionals, families, friends, institutions, and authorities. Each of us had a personal goal, but we shared a common purpose: to raise awareness about obesity.
Being part of the change and seeing the positive impact it has on people’s lives is a fulfilling experience.
We take one step at a time, but together we are stronger. We are excited to continue changing the narrative of obesity in 2025, join us!
