Professor Kent Buse is a political economist with expertise in health policy analysis. He is an Honorary Professional Fellow of The George Institute for Global Health, Imperial College London, and co-Founder and co-CEO of Global Health 50/50, a registered charity in the UK and the leading advocacy and accountability organisation for gender equality in global health.
He has served at a senior level in the United Nations, including as chief of strategy, policy and research at UNAIDS. He was previously a faculty member of Yale University School of Public Health and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is lead author of the widely used textbook ‘Making Health Policy' which now in its 3rd edition. He is co-author/editor of several other books as well as over 200 peer reviewed papers, chapters, editorials and reports on a range of issues related to health in low- and middle-income countries as well as on global health policy, architecture and governance. He has lived in numerous countries and worked and advised a wide range of organisations.
